Epocware, ein Tochterunternehmen der Paragon Software Group, hat mit Handy-RSS jetzt einen RSS-Newsreader für S60-Smartphones vorgestellt, der neben den Handys mit dem S60-3rd-Edition-System auch schon neue Endgeräte mit Symbian S60 5th Edition wie das Nokia N97 unterstützt. Dabei ist die Software nach Hersteller-Angaben für die Nutzung der RSS-Feeds auf dem Handy-Display optimiert.

The application works like a user interface and perfectly integrates with the phone's operating system, as well as with its main applications: Clock, Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Profiles, Themes.

Handy Shopper doesn't do anything fancy – it does lists. But it does them very well, and effort has been put in to make sue that any new user can get to grips with the application intuitively from the first screen. It might not be a 'sexy' application but it can fill the gap in people's lifestyle, and make that life just a little bit easier. Can you ask any more from a software tool?

Here is another application that you can’t live without. A handy dictionary like SloveEd is a must especially for students, but you’ll never know when you’ll need one. SlovoEd is not only a pocket dictionary for your Nokia 5800 it is also a translator. You can choose from 110 dictionaries available for 29 languages from English, Spanish Portuguese, French and even Japanese.

Mit Handy RSS lassen sich RSS-Feeds ganz bequem am Smartphone abonnieren und lesen. Die Applikation läuft auf S60 3rd und 5th Edition Geräten, ich habe mir die Version für Geräte mit Touch-Bildschirm näher angesehen.

Die aktuellen Nokia Geräte wie das Nokia E71 können von Haus aus RSS Feeds lesen - in den Lesezeichen des Webbrowsers lassen ich auch entsprechende Fundstellen für den einfachen Abruf speichern, und sogar automatisch aktualisieren. Doch ein bisschen komfortabler geht es natürlich mit einem dedizierten RSS Reader. Einen solchen bietet Epocware seit Ende Januar 2009 auch für Symbian S60v3 und v5 (Touchscreen wie Nokia 5800) an: Handy RSS.
