Update is a minor version change. Updates provide bug fixes and/or some improvements in functionality of a program. This means that version 2.1 (as well as all next versions until 2.99) will be a free update from version 2.0 to all purchases of a product.

Upgrade is a major version change. Upgrades provide significant improvements in functionality. This means that version 4.3 will be a paid upgrade from version 3.5 (as well as upgrades from all previous versions: 2.x, 1.x) to all purchases of the product. Major version upgrades have a nominal upgrade fee of 50% of the purchase price. We provide upgrades to a major release with upgrade fee of 20% of the purchase price to all purchasers of the product within 3 months of a purchase. Furthermore, we provide free upgrades to a major release to all purchasers of the product within 1 months of a purchase.

We are to reserve the right to expand these policies on a per customer basis based on circumstances, on a per product basis or to expand these policies for a certain release.
